- Leave notice
If the teacher wishes to take leave, he /she must give the Yoga Centre at least 1 week’s notice. The teacher must not change the time and venue of class or arrange for replacement classes without notifying the Yoga Centre. If the teacher needs to take sick leave, he / she must inform Yoga Centre at least 4 hours before class commences.
- Personal Appearance and Manners
The teacher must take care of his / her appearance and must not engage in any obscene or indecent behavior within class. He or she must not eat, chat, deal with private matters, or talk on the phone during class.
- Safe Learning Environment
The teacher must ensure a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for the practice of yoga.
- Teach with heart
The teacher must strive his or her best to help students with learning their poses, he or she must always be prepared to take necessary yet safe steps to adjust or upgrade poses of students to maximize the effect and results of each pose on students.
- Respect for Students
The teacher must respect every student in class and treat them all equally without favoritism. The teacher should always be alert to the well being of students in class and be responsive to students’ reaction (sickness, pain, cramp, non-comfort and others) during the practice of yoga.
- Professioinalism
The teacher must always conduct himself / herself in a professional manner. He / She will only give reasonable advice to students within the realm of yoga and within his / her expertise. He / She should refer the students to seek alternative advice if the information sought by the student is beyond his or her skills and scope of knowledge.
